This propaganda poster is meant to appeal to the workers, and entices them to give their all to help society build itself a new, better world. The picture in the background is a painting I found on the internet of the "Palace of the Soviets", a superstructure meant to house soviet congress in Moscow near the Kremlin. It was started in 1937, but scrapped in 1941 when Germany invaded. Construction never resumed.

That is fantastic! As for the Palace of the Soviets, the architecture for the building has been looked back upon. Modern architects have discovered that the building would never actually have been possible with such an ambitious design. The ground of Moscow was too soft, and the huge amphitheater would have made the rest of the structure unsound. Also, Lenin's statue atop, due to the normal amount of cloud cover, would have been visible only from the waist down most times of the year. Oi...

Sorry, I might have gotten a bit carried away with the trivia. HA HA HA... o_o;;;
